The trend for oversized rings and pendulous earrings has been a key story in recent seasons, particularly the more sculptural and artistic pieces, spearheaded abroad by designers with a distinctive contemporary art bent like Marni and Celine, and locally by some of our more exciting emerging jewellers such as Zelda

Delicate, intricate, fine jewellery is available right now from local jewellery brands such as Jessica Aggrey and Meadowlark. The latter is seeing notable success in the US, its septum ring a popular piece worn by the likes of Rihanna, It girl Zoe Kravitz, and Canadian singer Grimes. Meadowlark's latest fine jewellery campaign features top US model Missy Raydar (pictured) wearing diminutive pieces from the "Zenith" collection. The "Punkish Apex" chain earring is the perfect piece to tap into fashion's rebellious spirit right now, where the sudden pace of trends moving at breakneck speed are slowly morphing into the idea of individuality.
Multiple gold or silver stacker rings are also a key emerging jewellery trend, worn across fingers with some sitting just above the knuckle. It's an interesting, fun way to wear multiple rings without feeling overwhelmed. Meanwhile, Louis Vuitton has partnered with Unicef to create a special edition collection of pendants and bracelets inspired by the lockets found on the brand iconic trunks. The luxury brand has pledged to donate $300 from each sale of the "Lockit" pendant and bracelet to Unicef to help shed light on the plight some of the world's children face on a daily basis. "Unicef is a strong and reliable leader in humanitarian action. Together, we can make a real difference to the children in the most vulnerable situation" says Louis Vuitton chairman and CEO Michael Burke.
