Fanning to star in wonderful adaptation

Dakota Fanning is set to star in a new film adaptation of Lewis Carroll's children's classic Alice in Wonderland, according to movie website zap2it.com. The 10-year-old actress, who has already starred with Sean Penn in I am Sam, Denzel Washington in Man on Fire and Robert De Niro in Hide and Seek, says she is perfect for the girl trapped in a weird land of mad hatters, talking rabbits and giant playing cards.

Before she gets to that project, Fanning will star in the live action version of Charlotte's Web and opposite Tom Cruise in the sci-fi spectacular War of the Worlds.
