New Zealand designers feature prominently in the wardrobe of Jackie Jones. "You can't beat New Zealand fashion. Our designers have really made their mark on the world stage," says Jackie, who is the PR and business development officer at beauty company BDM Grange.

"I love Workshop and I am particularly enjoying their summer collection. It's so feminine and gorgeous. I have been a huge fan of Karen Walker's tailored pieces and her use of bold and beautiful fabrics since she opened her first shop. World and Marla Brajkovic are also right up there on my list."

What is your favourite accessory?

My tan Commence belt which I bought from Pearl in Grey Lynn. It goes with everything and makes an otherwise bland outfit look great.

What do you wear when you're relaxing at home?

I only wear comfortable clothes. I'm not one of those girls who like to squeeze into things.

What is your biggest fashion indulgence?

Shoes. I love them. On a recent trip to the United States I came back with 12 pairs. However, my male travelling companion did outdo me in the shoe stakes.

What is the last item of clothing you bought?

A denim shirt dress from Workshop. It can be so easily dressed up or down.

Favourite hotels?

I have been known to spend hours researching and deliberating over where to stay on trips. I'm a huge fan of boutique hotels. In New Zealand it would have to be Mollies in Herne Bay. The hotel is a mix of centuries-old antiques and sleek modern furnishings. I also love the 60 Thompson in Soho, New York and the W in Times Square. The Pearl in Bora Bora is a truly beautiful hotel in the most exquisite setting.

What is your beauty routine?

Working for a cosmetics company that has great brands such as Clarins and La Praire I am, of course, loyal to those. I use Clarins foaming cleanser in the shower in the morning, then the multi-active day cream and the extra firming neck cream. I'm also using La Praire Cellular Eye Contour Cream, it's a miracle in a jar. At night I usually cleanse with Clarins One Step Facial Cleanser and use their Multi-active Night Lotion.

What can't you live without?

ChapStick. It's the only product that truly heals my dry lips.

Who does the best handbags?

Without question, Louis Vuitton. I got my first bag about four years ago and have been hooked ever since.

Who inspires you?

It's difficult to narrow it down. But I am generally inspired by people who are passionate, determined and positive. People who are not afraid to step outside their comfort zone to achieve a goal.

The essential fashion item for summer?

A sexy pair of oversized sunglasses.

Favourite colour?

I'm loving green at the moment. It makes a nice change from all the black clothing in my wardrobe.

Favourite store of the moment?

Eon Design in Beaumont St. I've bought an apartment and spend many hours in that beautiful shop dreaming about things I can't afford.

What's your idea of relaxation?

I have such a hectic life, I don't really get a lot of time to myself. So it would have to be a lazy Sunday with a long sleep-in, a late brunch and then a quiet afternoon with the papers and maybe a quick walk around the park with my dogs.

What's your favourite look?

Although it has been done to death, I'm still loving the boho chic look. It's a great way to dress up and feel feminine and girlie.

Best outfit?

My black cotton Workshop dress with my Commence belt slung low and a pair of vintage brown boots from Fast & Loose.

Best fashion bargain?

A pair of Helmut Lang heels bought from a Fabric sale two years ago.
