In the women's mags: Mrs Ellis swans about after gumboot thrown

It's been a big time for international births, what with Gwyneth popping out Moses a fortnight ago and the long-awaited, hushed arrival of Suri Cruise, complete with nutritious placenta for the family frypan.

But in Nu Zild, two of the triumvirate of the gossip gospels carried local lad Marc Ellis and his wedding to Agustina Mon.

Despite the Herald earlier puzzling over the secrecy at the ceremony, believing there was no deal with a women's mag, there in New Idea was what looked very much like an exclusive peek at the wedding album.

Ellis nee Mon's frock was of draping Grecian lines, with subtle allusions to Greek myth in the form of a roadkill version of Leda's Swan along one hip.

In the honourable fashion of pooping another mag's party, Woman's Day also managed to scramble up an Ellis wedding concoction for its front page, and an inside spread complete with photos of the pair on the day before the wedding, featuring such charming shots as Ellis exposing builder's crack and winning Coromandel's annual gumboot-throwing competition. Meanwhile, Angelina is about to walk down a sandier aisle, reports Woman's Day.

She's three weeks away from delivery of her first baby with Brad Pitt to join her rainbow family of Maddox and Zahara, but has a "secret African wedding" to get out of the way first.

Relationship problems have disappeared and the pair are to have a traditional Namibian ceremony at a remote desert lodge in Etosha National Park.

It will include tribal elements, which not only give it authenticity but save Pitt a lot of money - instead of rings, they exchange shells. But wait. Turns out Angelina visited designer Karl Lagerfeld and Brad visited jeweller Alberto Repossi and requested a "special jewel".

Given Tom Cruise's determination to give birth along scientology lines, one wonders whether Angelina's love of Africa will see her insisting she gives birth squatting against a tree.

The Royals do not get off off scot-free. Princes William and Harry reportedly went on a two-day booze binge with their girlfriends, spending $7000 on drinks at London nightclub Boujis after a ball.

Even worse, William apparently swore and laughed at "lewd jokes."
