Duchess Camilla 'delightfully' pockets tennis player's sweaty wristband

He had hardly been on court long enough to work up a sweat as he breezed through his second round match on Court One.

But when Andy Murray celebrated victory by hurling his wristband towards a group of spectators including the Duchess of Cornwall, it was sweaty enough to provoke a playful reaction. Camilla turned up her nose at the accessory - before popping it in her handbag as a souvenir. It had been passed to her after being caught by Wimbledon chairman Philip Brook as they stood to applaud the Scot.

A royal source said Camilla, who congratulated Murray in person afterwards, was "delighted" to have received the sweatband.

Earlier the Duchess revealed she was actually a big fan of Rafael Nadal and had met the 14-time grand slam winner before watching Murray.

Unfortunately for Camilla, who told the 29-year-old Spaniard "I hope you win", her support couldn't stop Nadal suffering a shock defeat.
