A television production company with nearly $300,000 of public funding wants proposals for programmes to air on TV3.
In a rare reversal for television - where producers are more often struggling to get financial backing - the Sunday-afternoon series, Open Door, is looking for applications from people who want to make issues-based programmes.
New Zealand On Air has allocated $289,309 for a fourth series of Open Door, a community-based television project featuring 10 30-minute documentaries.
Series producer Keith Lambert is looking for people or groups who want to make a programme about an issue that involves or concerns them.
"Only people directly involved in the issues appear on screen, rather than expert commentators or outside observers," Mr Lambert said.
People interested in taking part in the series should write to Open Door, PO Box 108, Kaukapakapa 1250, or email opendoor@xtra.co.nz
