Now here's an idea: Bruce Willis alongside a kid in a film with a supernatural theme. So don't be fooled by "Disney" and "The Kid."
This is not a children's movie, it's a way along the track to The Sixth Sense II.
The follicly
challenged one plays Russ Duritz, an LA "image consultant" who needs some consulting on his own image. He's rude and angry and hassles his PA (Lily Tomlin).
In The Sixth Sense, the kid saw dead people. This time, the man keeps seeing a kid. When the kid, Rusty (Spencer Breslin), allows himself to be approached Duritz realises Rusty is Russ, just before his eighth birthday.
The boy and the man share memories and the adult begins to understand why he is so uptight. Unfortunately, the lesson he learns is that a damn good playground fight solves all a man's problems.
For all that, a feelgood evening's entertainment, even if it doesn't always feel quite right.
