Dear D&P: My partner refuses to hire professionals for our home renovations

Our house renovations are taking a toll on our relationship, as my partner hasn’t got a clue what he is doing, and I just want the professionals in, but he refuses.

Denise says

: Just override him and get in the people who actually know what they are doing, otherwise the "renovations" are going to continue well past your retirement. In the long run bringing in the professionals costs more, but it saves relationships.

Pebbles says

: Probably a good idea to point out how much money will be spent on fixing shoddy renovations if they're done badly to cut costs. Be prepared for yet more arguments, but you have valid points to make if it's your marriage at stake.
