Dear D&P: My fake nails are a pain but I love them

I have spent a fortune having long, acrylic nails put on, but cannot do anything with them, even type or do my job properly.

Denise says

: They sound like Sha-naynay nails, the ones worn by women on bad talk shows, when they waggle their fingers at people and speak in tongues. I know people who have them, and have asked how they go to the toilet, as you can't bend even bend your fingers with these things on. If you cannot do your job, you better get them taken off, lesson learnt.

: To maintain fly nails, you need to work and earn a wage to keep it up. If you can't do your job because of your talons, make them shorter. Still flex, but just shorter.
