A Japanese woman has created a freakishly realistic line of cat handbags that are generating hype online.
Made by hand using plastic eyes, fake fur and spray-painted for an individual finish, the bags are selling for over $1,000.
The designer is known as Pico on Twitter and describes herself as a cat-loving housewife who enjoys "making cats."
While she's also constructed numerous life-like stuffed animals her cat handbags - complete with ears, tails and a strap - have gained a steady following.
One image of a black, white and caramel cat bag was retweeted over 10,000 times.
With yellow eyes and a pink nose, the bag sold for 83,000 yen, or about $1,020 New Zealand dollars.
Another design of a grey cat sold on Yahoo! Auction for 66,000 yen, or $817 New Zealand dollars.
Despite their growing popularity, Pico announced on Twitter her bags will only be sold in Japan.
