Coronavirus: British nurse begs supermarket hoarders to 'stop it' in emotional video

A critical care nurse in the UK has made an emotional plea to people hoarding food and supplies to "stop it" after she finished a 48-hour shift and couldn't find any fresh food to buy.

"I've just come out of the supermarket, there's no fruit or veg. I had a little cry in there," she said in the video, shared to Twitter by BBC Yorkshire.

Since it was shared on Thursday, the video has been viewed more than 2 million times.

Identified only as Dawn, the nurse goes on to explain she went to buy herself some food after her 48-hour shift but stockpilers had left the shelves completely bare.

"I just don't understand how I'm supposed to stay healthy," she said, visibly emotional.

Across the UK, stockpilers have emptied grocery store shelves and online food-delivery slots are booked up for weeks.

"You just need to stop it," Dawn said.

Once the video went viral, people on Twitter started offering to help people like this nurse and all healthcare workers on the front lines.
