Christchurch gym creates dedicated 'selfie room'

Gym goers in Christchurch now have a room dedicated to their fitness selfies.

A Christchurch gym has created a "selfie room" for all gym goers who want to take selfies before or after their workouts.

Anytime Fitness in Hornby opened its "selfie room" last week and claims it is the first of its kind in the Christchurch area.

The room is a private area with mirrors where gym goers can take photos of their fitness progress.

"We have created Christchurch's very 1st SELFIE ROOM for you! (Yes, we know how many of you love taking gym selfies)," the gym announced on Facebook last week.

Gym management is encouraging users to track their progress by taking selfies in the new room.

"Body positivity is so important to us and tracking the progress of your health and fitness journey is so rewarding! Progress photos to track your your changes and results are super motivating and a great motive to keep pushing harder, so we created this space for you to be able to take your gym selfies in private."

The gym also encourages users to share their selfies online using #anytimefitnesshornby.

On Facebook, the response to the "selfie room" was very positive, with users tagging fellow gym goers who will like the idea of a dedicated room for their fitness selfies.
