"Our heated pool and spa are big draw cards and the family friendly atmosphere means it's a great place for everyone," she said.
Hamilton woman Katrina Dalton said she and her family had been coming to Rotorua for the last six years, and to All Seasons Holiday Park for the last three, and have just secured a permanent site for the foreseeable future.
"I've just had my own room built so I'll be here as much as I can over summer, but some people have been coming here for almost 40 years.
"The kids are safe here running around all day and they even allow our dogs here."
Mrs Dalton said the family were keen mountain bikers and would also be coming back for Crankworx.
"The forest is one of the only things you can do for free, so we love that part of it."
Across town at the Waiteti Trout Stream Holiday Park, owner Michael Thorne said Rotorua was buzzing with tourists and he had no room left for at leas the next few days.
"I'm chocker for the sixth day in a row and there's nothing here until at least the sixth of January.
"Going back a few years the holiday parks were doing it tough, but we are now leading the way with guests nights and percentage increase in guests, I think camping has stuck more of a chord with people.
"Rotorua has a really good range of attractions here to keep people interested, with new things coming on board all the time," Mr Thorne said.
Blue Lake Top 10 Holiday Park duty manager John Alexander said they has also been fully booked and the lake was extremely busy with people coming down to cool off.
"We are having to turn people away, it's just non-stop crazy.
"With weather like this the lake is really busy and trade in our shop here has been constant.
"We're booked up through to about the eighth or ninth. On the odd night we have some accommodation, but that doesn't last long.
"It's busiest I've seen it, there's nowhere to put them and I think the whole of Rotorua is the same," Mr Alexander said.
