A popular Easter egg appears to be in short supply across the country, leaving some Kiwi shoppers scrambling.
Cadbury Mini eggs are proving to be the most hunted of all Easter chocolates this season, with strong demand leading to shelves emptying faster than expected.
One Auckland store warned customers toget in quickly after receiving what it said would be its final delivery.
“The Easter bunny hopped by last night to drop off our FINAL delivery of MINI EGGS,” New World Birkenhead wrote on social media.
“Securing stock of this Easter gold has been almost impossible this year - so get in quick as we won’t receive any more.”
Chocoholics quickly filled the comments, with one joking the treats were “like crack”.
The crispy, candy-coated, milk chocolate-flavoured eggs, which were on special for $7, were also sold out on the Woolworths online shopping website today.

A Woolworths spokesperson said the bite-sized delights were a perennial Easter favourite.
“Cadbury Mini Eggs are one of our Easter top sellers and they are a seasonal product with fixed supply.
“High demand this year has led to some stores selling out faster than anticipated.”
The spokesperson encouraged customers to check their local stores as stock levels may vary.
The Warehouse said the treats remained widely available across its stores.
“Cadbury’s Mini Eggs are super-popular this time of year and we have good overall stock levels across the motu to refill any shelves running low,” a spokesperson said.
