We came here because we needed to check out the popular new eatery in the hip Britomart precinct.
Parking was no problem for us. There were a few spots on the surrounding streets and the area is well-situated in the city, with plenty of public transport options.
We walked inand immediately thought the place was buzzing. The Store opened up a couple of months ago and has been on my radar since. It is a fresh little haven in Auckland's cityscape.
The most unusual thing on the menu was a tie between the poached eggs with caramelised cauliflower, almonds, raisins and capers ($15.50) and the rancher eggs - corn tortilla, queso fresco, black beans, mole rojo, pico d'galo and fried eggs ($18.50)
We ordered the two most unusual things on the menu. Plus a prosciutto croque madame ($12.50) for dessert. The egg yolks were beautifully bright and the flavour combos unlike any brunch menu I've come across in Auckland.
The coffee was quick, tasty and the perfect temperature to start sipping straight away while reading the paper.
The service was young, happy and friendly.
We recommend if you come here be prepared for a short wait for a table. However, it's well worth it.
Overall we thought The Store's setting was cool and the menu unique. We'll be back to make our way through the other tempting dishes.
