We chose this place because it's recently been given a new name and had a bit of a renovation, so we wanted to see how things had changed.
Parking was easy on the road outside. There is also parking in the library carpark across the road.
We walked
in and immediately thought what a change cosmetic touches can make. New french doors open up the space and make it more inviting. And obviously others seem to think so too— the place is quite busy on a winter's morning.
The most unusual thing on the menu didn't exist. All standard fare.
We ordered pancakes with roast banana, bacon, berry coulis and maple syrup ($12); kids' pancakes with roast banana and maple syrup ($6); poached eggs on five-grain toast ($6.50) and a bagel with cream cheese and preserves ($4).
The service was great. Friendly and efficient.
The coffee was only average. Not as good as the food.
We recommend if you come here you enjoy the winter sunshine at one of the outdoor tables then take a stroll through the bush at the end of the road. A very pleasant way to spend the morning.
Overall, we thought the new owners have done a great job of reviving this cafe and restaurant into a nice suburban spot.
