Best dressed: Melbourne Cup Day fashion

Melbourne's most fashionable have arrived at Flemington Racecourse for the biggest day in the racing calendar.

While the sporting punters may be placing their bets on the best horse of the day, we are placing ours on who is best dressed.

Jodi Gordon

The Neighbours star chose a vibrant dress featuring an on-trend "pie crust" collar with a ruffle back.

She paired it with a large gold head piece, perfectly coordinated with her bag and heels.

The former Miss Universe chose Australian designer Alex Perry to dress her for Melbourne's most fashionable event.
