Gold bullion worth $42 million is taken and two guards are executed in a high-tech heist of the Federal Reserve in New York.
The mastermind, Bristol (Doug Hutchison), who's a brilliant computer hacker, has hired a getaway truck-driver who drives off without
him.
The feds nab the driver and he's interrogated by hard-boiled agent Clenteen (David Morse). Unfortunately for all concerned, the only link to the crime dies.
That leaves the agents and the hacker desperate to find where the gold is. Alvin Sanders (Jamie Foxx) might know: he shared a cell with the dead man and may have learned something. Clenteen implants Alvin with a chip, allowing agents to eavesdrop on every word. He's the bait to smoke out Bristol.
Good setup, and the leads have a great deal of knowing fun with a funny, clever script with a little Hitchcock, a little Bond ... and even a snatch of the Marx Brothers.
