If you're fond of the Christmas party season, but not so enamoured of the toll it takes on your skin and hair, follow these simple rules. Firstly, water is your friend - hungover skin is dehydrated skin. Alcohol will deplete vitamin and antioxidant levels leaving a dull, dry and lined
complexion. A lack of sleep will also gift you eye bags and dark circles.
Invest in skin care products rich in anti-oxidants, ceramides and vitamins A, C and E. Don't go to bed with makeup on, as your pores will be blocked and cell turnover can't happen properly, and aim to go makeup free at least once a week.
If you're getting a bit handy with the curlers or straighteners it's important to protect the hair shaft from heat damage. Above 130 degrees the hair surface will start to crack and dry out, causing frizz. A good protectant will create a buffer layer to prevent the hair shaft overheating and losing moisture.
