An Australian fashion influencer is warning women that their style choices could have serious consequences after being “nearly decapitated”.

Eli Moulton’s outfit began to strangle her as her scarf got tangled underneath a car when she was leaving the opening of a BMW dealership in Glenelg, South Australia.

She posted a picture of a deep friction burn around her neck on Instagram with the caption: “REMOVE your neck scarves before entering or operating any heavy machinery! Nearly decapitated myself getting the scarf tangled underneath the car on the way home.”

“The dress that had me in a chokehold,” one clip in the post was captioned before cutting to a video of her burn with the word “literally”.

The owner of a dress hire company later told followers Moulton was “thriving and surviving” and she was going to get her neck medically bandaged, 7News Australia reported.
