These silver foxes are proving very popular on Instagram. Photos / Instagram

By Unity Blott

For most men over the age of 50, pumping iron in the gym and posing for sultry selfies is the last thing on their mind.

But these silver foxes have bucked the trend by getting into the best shape of their lives - and they aren't about to let a few grey hairs get in their way, reports the Daily Mail.

By sculpting enviable physiques they have transformed not just their appearance but their lifestyle, helping them carve out lucrative careers in modelling, acting and fitness.

With their rippling abs and bulging biceps, these men could pass for models half their age - and they've got legions of flustered female fans to prove it.

He's the Italian stallion who is renowned for his toned torso as well as being a hugely successful businessman.

And Gianluca Vacchi shows no signs of slowing down as he is regluarly spotted showing off his tiny white swimming shorts on the sands of Miami beach.

Showcasing his buff physique, which is scattered with tattoos, the 49-year-old likes nothing better than showing off his flamboyant wardrobe in snaps taken on his seemingly endless sun-kissed holidays.

Gianluca - who heads up the manufacturing company SEA SocietΓ  Europea Autocaravan - has an estimated net worth of 300 million dollars, and is a life coach as well as an entrepreneur.

The millionaire shot to fame after he went viral by sharing a video of himself emerging from a freezing anti-aging chamber and then performing a dance routine in just his pants and snow boots.

The cryotherapy chamber is a device that blasts the body with temperatures of -16C, and the 49-year-old is said to use the treatment to feel young and keep his skin looking firm.

Fond of posting motivational quotes online, his mantra is: "Your best body is just a few weeks or months away! If you want it go for it! The days will pass either way, you might as well look back and be happy in the path you've chosen."

And in a recent Instagram post, he explained how he had overhauled his physique saying: "I'm not a clean eating freak but I do my best to stay away from high fat junk food.

"I do eat fast food since I'm commuting daily but I choose the healthiest items on the menu. Watching your diet is not necessarily the fun part of fitness but it is required."

Sixty-one-year-old Dumas, who lives in Paris, made a last ditch attempt to achieve his ambition a year and a half ago when he posted images of himself on picture-sharing platform Imgur.

Featuring a collection of images showing himself in various sultry poses - and showcasing a beard that most millennial hipsters would envy - he quickly amassed over 360,000 views.

Captioning his portraits he wrote: "Retired but not out, giving a last go to my lifelong dream of becoming a model, do I have it in me?"

Before his career goals became a reality he spent 20 years working as a location unit manager for films before spending a further ten years in advertising.
