Age of Mythology: The Titans (Microsoft PC)

Age of Mythology was one of last year's top games and just when it was getting long in the tooth, this expansion pack gives it new legs.

The Titans of the title (below) are the superweapons of mythology and can be used to devastating effect in the later stages of battles.

But the real value of the pack is the addition of a new civilisation, Atlantis, to the original Greek, Egyptian and Norse ones.

The game focuses on the gods of those races, and Atlantis deities are Chronos, Oranos, and Gaia.

You choose one which then influences your choice of godly powers, units and technologies.

One criticism of Age of Mythology was that it was harder to play than its predecessor, Age of Empires.

Microsoft have addressed that by making the Atlanteans an easier civilisation to manage.

The expansion pack also adds a new campaign, which sees the other three civilisations uniting to stop the Alanteans freeing the Titans from exile.
