The idea of shopping for your clothes at the supermarket may have many of us breathing into a paper bag. But, it could soon be a reality if Britain's anything to go by.

New Zealand-born fashion editor for the Daily Telegraph Hilary Alexander had great fun at the Paris fashion shows wearing a Russian folklore print dress that was not Chloe, Chanel, Marni, Prada or even Lanvin. It was Cherokee at Tesco and it cost her 25 ($63) from the aisle of her local supermarket.

One day soon our shopping list could read: bread, milk, dress for wedding ...
