Renowned Maori poet Hone Tuwhare will be buried today after a funeral at Kotahitanga Marae in Kaikohe.
Mr Tuwhare, 85, who died last week in Dunedin, was to be buried next to his mother in Wharepaepae.
He won national and international recognition for his work.
