O'Regan to chair Centre of Research Excellence

Prominent Maori leader Sir Tipene O'Regan has been appointed chairman of the University of Auckland-based Centre of Research Excellence, Nga Pae o te Maramatanga.

Acting chairman Professor Tom Barnes said Sir Tipene had an enormous contribution to make.

The centre supports research by Maori scholars into issues facing Maori communities.
