Matariki shines

Matariki, the Maori New Year, is traditionally a time to celebrate new beginnings, give respect to the land and to remember your ancestry. It is also a time of feasting, fun and festivity. There are a host of events throughout Northland in June, ranging from art and indigenous food festivals to tree plantings and celestial navigation tours on land and sea.
