Home invasion

A Mamaku woman is in Rotorua Hospital with moderate injuries after she was attacked in her home 20km northwest of Rotorua last night.

Police said a man ran into the 67-year-old's house through a ranch slider about 7.40pm and kicked and punched her before running away with her handbag.

They said the man, described as a Maori in his early 30s, headed towards Rotorua in a dark car, driving without lights.
