Horowhenua Community Music Workshop is an affordable musical resource for primary and intermediate age children.
Tuition classes have been running for more than 20 years offering a wide range of musical tuition to choose from, including keyboard, guitar, bass, violin, ukulele, drums, flute, clarinet and recorder.
The cost of thelessons is kept as low as possible to make affordable for all at $30 for three terms - or $1 a lesson.
Instruments are available to hire at $30 for those who need them.
All tutors are practicing musicians with many years' experience and by the end of the third term, students will perform the skills learned in a concert for family and friends in solo and group items.
All participants who complete the year receive a certificate.
Registrations can be done online at www.musicworkshop.homedns.org or by phoning Rona Cooper on (06) 368-2510, noting the preferred day for tuition. Classes are half an hour.
The tutors, Nancy Jones, Milton Matehaere or Rona Cooper, will contact students with the date and time of the class.
Payment can be made on the first day or collected once lessons have begun. All classes are held after school at Levin Intermediate School, Collingwood Street.
