The Big Bang Adventure Race is back again this spring with more surprises, more challenges and more fun.
This November teams of two or four will make their way across a top secret course across the Kapiti/Horowhenua region. Race director Carrie Yaxley encourages people to grab a friend and giveadventure racing a try.
"It's one of those fitness days that is just furiously, proper good fun," she said.
Ms Yaxley said teams will be given a map and find their own way across a scenic course.
The race is full of fun and surprises, with activities including mountain biking, trekking and water activities.
There are also mystery detours which in the past have included a mini commando course, brainteasers and eating marshmallows off strings.
"The race isn't about winning a million dollars or finishing with the best time, but rather a fun way for people to challenge themselves and get outdoors in a safe environment."
Ms Yaxley said adventure racing is growing in New Zealand every year.
"Richie McCaw recently participated in the epic 5-day race GODZONE and has really profiled adventure racing."
Carrie invited people to give a day of adventure racing a go. "It's tough and it's fun - a real laugh!"
