A year after opening, the Levin Community Charity Shop has closed its doors, donating its final income, a total of $3300, to seven community groups.
Chrissy Clifton had been managing the store since it opened, but due to her health has had to close the store.
However, Chrissy's hard workhas paid off and in the short life span of the store, more than $9000 has been injected back into the community, including the final cheques.
She said that the past 12 months had gone well and she was really proud and pleased with the amount the shop was able to give back.
"I have to say a huge thanks to all the volunteers. If you have a great team, things will go well and they have," she said.
"If it wasn't for the community shopping with us, we wouldn't have been able to give this amount, the community should be proud as well."
The last cheques went to Horowhenua Neighbourhood Support, $300, and cheques for $500 each to the Abuse Rape and Crisis Support Team, St Joseph's Catholic School, Fairfield School, Taitoko School, Koputaroa School and Poroutawhao School.
