Zane Lowe has scored another exclusive - nabbing superproducer Rick Rubin for an extended interview.

The Kiwi DJ, who hosts one of the biggest radio shows in the UK, has followed up lengthy interviews with Jay Z, Kanye West, Chris Martin and Eminem by scoring a chat with the reclusive American producer.

In the interview, which is airing in four parts on the BBC-owned radio station this week, Rubin confirmed that he is working with Kanye West on the follow-up album to Yeezus.

Rubin has worked with the rapper on numerous occasions, and was brought in just 15 days before the last record was due to be released in the hope of stripping down its sound.

Rubin said he was "looking a vocal ideas" for West's next album.

Kanye certainly has enough ideas kicking around for another release, having cut down Yeezus from 16 tracks to 10 on Rubin's recommendation.

The producer explained how he told West: "Maybe you should make it more concise. Maybe it is two albums. Maybe this is just the first half."

There is no word yet on whether West will work with Bon Iver's Justin Vernon once more, who has contributed vocals to his last two albums, though he did express a desire to collaborate with James Blake recently, who was sampled by his peer Drake in a new track 0 to 100/The Catch Up earlier this month.
