"I've been talking about a new idea with Bill Lawrence who created Scrubs. I don't know if it will be this year or next," he told The Independent.
"I like the idea of cable because I don't want to do 22 episodes, but I like the idea of this new wave that you can do 12 episodes or eight episodes maybe for cable or Netflix or wherever. There are so many more options now. Its an exciting time."
Braff recently told AAP that television is the place to be if you're an actor.
When asked if he would return, he replied, "of course".
"If you had asked me that a year and a half ago, or two years ago, I would have said no, but now of course I would, it's where all the great roles are," he says.
"It's the reason why all these amazing actors are tiptoeing over to TV, or cable television, because at least in this country, there's more interesting parts for actors there than there are in cinema and that's a sad thing to say."
