Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra
As part of Unesco International Arts Education Week, the APO are putting on the Discovery Concert at Auckland Town Hall on May 22, which is aimed at secondary school students. It will feature work by Beethoven, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky and Sibelius, as well as music from Japan, Ireland, America, Africa, and of course New Zealand. They are also hosting Meet the Composer and Ask the Conductor sessions, and the Sistema Aotearoa Concert on May 24 featuring the Raploch Orchestra performing at the Otara Music Arts Centre.

Like a Version
To celebrate our great songwriters, Apra is hosting Like a Version at the Kings Arms. Rackets, No Why, the Jordan Luck Band, Jesse Sheehan, and Drop Dead Redhead will be performing a variety of Kiwi tunes, both classics and recent releases.

NZ Music Month Summit
It's become an annual event, where artists young and established, come to share wisdom and learn about the local industry and get some tips about how you can do better as an artist. This year the theme is Your Music as a Business, and there will be four seminars throughout the day with a range of industry speakers: Your Band as a Brand, Radio and the Online World, The Role of a Music Producer, and Be Your Own Record Company. Plus there will be the opportunity for networking and one-on-one mentoring.
