Weather presenter apologises, then faints on live TV

A BBC presenter was feeling a bit under the weather when she passed out during a live news broadcast.

Rachel Mackley, a weather presenter for Britian's news programme South East Today, fainted in the middle of delivering the weather forecast.

Everything seemed normal in the live TV segment when Mackley suddenly turned to her colleagues, saying, "I'm so sorry, I'm going to faint."

Her eyes started to flutter and she stumbled backwards.

The cameras then crossed to worried presenters Polly Evans and Rob Smith. Smith then told South East Today staff: "Quick, quick chaps, if we could sort Rachel out there."

While Evans can be heard telling viewers "We just need to have a check on Rachel there."
Although many were concerned for Mackley, BBC South East revealed that the weather presenter was now fine.

"Just to let you know our weather presenter Rachel is up on her feet and will be absolutely fine. Thank you for all your kind messages," the show told fans on Twitter from their official account.

Meanwhile, co-workers also reassured viewers that Mackley made a quick recovery from the scary incident.

Smith wrote on Twitter: "Just to let you know @BBC_RMackley is up on her feet and will be absolutely fine."

Sports reporter Claire Cottingham added that she had "just spoken to Rachel Mackley and she's doing okay. Scary moment on South East Today but she's doing alright."

As well as sending their concern and support, viewers also remarked on Twitter at how polite Mackley was before she fainted.
