After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a private detective.
After building hype with several teasers, the first full trailer for the next Marvel-Netflix series has been unveiled.
Jessica Jones stars Breaking Bad actress Krysten Ritter as the titular Jones, a former superhero turned private investigator. She uses her powers of flight and strength to help those who need itaround Hell's Kitchen.
Her life is upended though by the reappearance of Kilgrave, who used his mind control powers to torture Jones for months.
"Jessica, I'm the only one who matches you. We're inevitable," Kilgrave, played by David Tennant, tells her. Jones is forced to go to war with him in order to save herself and those around her.
Jessica Jones is based on the comic series Alias, which ran for 28 issues starting in 2001. Jessica Jones was later integrated into the wider Marvel world and currently plays a supporting role within the comics.
The 13-part series is the second of a five-part deal between Marvel and Netflix, following this year's critically acclaimed Daredevil. Luke Cage, Iron Fist and team-up miniseries The Defenders are all set to follow.
All episodes of Jessica Jones premiere November 20 on Netflix. The series co-stars David Tennant as Kilgrave, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Teresa Palmer as Patsy Walker and Carrie Ann Moss as Jeryn Hogarth.
