After the tough talk, it's war. There's plenty of action, fireballs and destruction in the superheroes' first big-screen pairing as Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day saviour, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs.
And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.
It is during a showdown in the epic blockbuster, that Wonderwoman pops up from nowhere. "Is she with you?" Superman asks Batman.
The Zack Snyder-directed film, which will mark Oscar winner Affleck's first appearance as Batman, is a sequel to the 2013 movie Man of Steel.
Some fans were not happy with the casting decision, with a petition launched following the announcement. The role was previously held by Christian Bale.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in New Zealand on March 24.
