Moana has made another splash with the unveiling of a new teaser-trailer.
Disney's latest animated adventure is set in the South Pacific and follows a young girl, Moana, and the demigod Maui as they set off on an epic quest across the ocean in search of a fabled island.
Moana is voiced by 15-year-old Hawaiian actress Auli'I Cravalho while Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson gives voice to Maui.
The minute-long teaser opens with Moana trying to convince Maui to help her "save the world."
But the tattooed Maui brushes her off saying he doesn't want to go on a "mission with some kid," before throwing her off his boat and into the sea.
Moana eventually gets Maui onside and the two set sail to take on "a whole ocean of bad", which includes nasties like lava monsters and menacing little coconut-like creatures.
The movie, which was co-written by Hunt for the Wilderpeople director Taika Waititi, also features the voices of Nicole Scherzinger and Alan Tudyk, as well as Kiwi actors Jemaine Clement, Temuera Morrison and Rachel House.
Moana is set for release in New Zealand on Boxing Day.
