It's been more than 20 years since John Cale last played in New Zealand at the now-defunct Ponsonby venue, The Gluepot.
But on November 15 the former member of the Velvet Underground, solo artist and music producer plays the Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna.
He's aman of many musical styles and in his 40-year career he's worked with classical revolutionaries like John Cage; produced albums for Patti Smith and the Stooges; recorded soundtrack, ballet and orchestral works; and released 16 solo albums.
