Two And A Half Men star begs fans to stop watching

One of the stars of Two And A Half Men has called the show "filth" and begged fans to stop watching it in an extraordinary outburst on YouTube.

Angus T Jones, who has been playing Jake Harper since the sitcom made its debut in 2003, said fans should boycott the show in a video promoting Forerunner Christian Church.

The fundamentalist Christian actor said the show contradicts his values and he wants to quit.

"If you watch Two And A Half Men, please stop watching Two And A Half Men. I'm on Two And A Half Men and I don't want to be on it.

"Please stop watching it and filling your head with filth. People say it's just entertainment. Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you'll have a decision to make when it comes to television, especially with what you watch on television. It's bad news."

The actor then implied the devil was using Two And A Half men to hurt people.

"A lot of people don't like to think about how deceptive the enemy is. He's been doing this for a lot longer than any of us have been around...

"If I am doing any harm, I don't want to be here. I don't want to be contributing to the enemy's plan ... You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can't. I'm not OK with what I'm learning, what the bible says and being on that television show."

Jones reportedly makes $350,000 an episode from Two And A Half Men - making him the highest paid child actor on television.

He is still under contract to the show.

Two And A Half Men previously starred troubled actor Charlie Sheen.

He was fired after a series of outbursts against its creator Chuck Lorre and was replaced by the 34-year-old actor Ashton Kutcher.

Lorre and the show's producers Warner have not offered any comment on Jones' outburst.
