Twilight, Sandler top Razzie dishonours list

The final installment of the Twilight saga and Adam Sandler have topped the dishonour list at the annual Razzie Awards.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 was nominated for worst picture and worst director as the Razzie contenders for 2012 were announced overnight.

Its stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are up for worst actor and actress and worst screen couple, while Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner are in the running for worst supporting actress and actor.

Adam Sandler was another big loser in the awards list.

He followed a record-setting 11-award sweep for last year's Jack and Jill - a feat which included him winning both worst actor and actress - with worst picture, worst director, worst supporting actor, worst actor and worst screen couple nominations for the critically panned That's My Boy.

The rebuff is unlikely to get him to fire his agent as That's My Boy racked up about $US300 million at the box-office.

Rihanna's first big screen role in Battleship was enough to earn her a worst actress nomination.

The film was also nominated for worst picture

Other nominations included worst supporting actor for David Hasselhoff in Piranha 3-DD and Nicholas Cage as worst actor in the virtually unheard-of Seeking Justice.

The Razzies have been running for 33 years as a counterbalance to the self-congratulatory Hollywood awards season.

Meanwhile, Civil War drama Lincoln topped the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAS) nominations overnight, with 10 nods including best picture and best actor.

Oscar nominations are set to be announced tomorrow.
