Political and current affairs talk show Q+A will shift from the morning to prime time TV, Television New Zealand has confirmed.
From Sunday July 29 the show, fronted by broadcaster Corin Dann, will move from its morning spot to 9.30pm.
Hi all, from July 29th Q+A will move to a 930pm slot on Sunday nights. It’s going to be great to have a politics show in an evening slot. Super stoked ! Can’t wait.
TVNZ head of news and current affairs John Gillespie saidthe move would bring in a bigger audience and complemented channel 1's other local shows such as Sunday and Hyundai Country Calendar.
"New Zealand audiences are deeply engaged with politics," Gillespie said.
"Viewers turned to TVNZ in record numbers during the 2017 elections and we're seeing a continued interest in polls, political discussion and stories across our news and current affairs output this year."
TVNZ also said Benedict Collins and Maiki Sherman would join 1's political editor Jessica Mutch in the press gallery.
