One News sports reporter and presenter Abby Scott married professional golf coach Guy Wilson in a New Year's Eve ceremony in Havelock North.
Wilson, who coached Kiwi golf prodigy Lydia Ko for 11 years, proposed to Scott in February last year, when his former student became the world's youngest numberone golf player.
Filming the surprise proposal, Wilson revealed it was part of a long-standing wager with Ko to propose when she claimed the number one spot.
Video of the proposal and Scott's reaction to it was posted on the One News website.
The pair, who affectionately refer to themselves as "Gabby", were married by Scott's fellow TVNZ colleague Matt McLean, who is an official wedding celebrant.
