TV3 bumps 3D, adds 7 Days sports show

Samantha Hayes is shifting to Monday nights with 3D.

Mediaworks is bumping its Sunday evening current affairs show, 3D, to late Monday nights.

The show will screen at 9.30pm on Mondays and be replaced by sports programming.

3D wll go on a two-week hiatus before beginning in its new timeslot.

TV3 had reduced its Sunday night news and sports and added the half-hour 3D in mid May.

The show was the result of its review of its news and current affairs shows which also led to the demise of Campbell Live.

The channel is now restoring a Sunday night half hour of sports under the title Super Sport Sunday which will start on September 20.

The show will feature guest panelists.

TV3 is adding another sports offering with a comedy bent, 7 Days of Sport, which will screen on Tuesdays at 9.30pm starting on September 29.

Hosted by a different prominent sportsperson each week, the new show will feature two teams captained by the sports-fan stars of Friday night's 7 Days including Dai Henwood, Urzila Carlson and Ben Hurley.

The usual 7 Days will also screen with a new batch of shows starting on October 9.

"It's going to be a great rugby campaign in the coming weeks so getting the 7 Days team involved in a series of sports specials makes perfect sense," said Mediaworks Group Entertainment Content Director Andrew Szusterman in a statement announcing the changes.

Last Sunday, 3D drew 209,320 viewers according to Nielsen.

The half-hour 3 News which preceded it had 252,550 viewers while MasterChef New Zealand on TV3 afterwards had 215,620.

One News on the same evening attracted 712,580 reviewers with the channel's Sunday current affairs show getting 628,070.
