A small screen adaptation of Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt's cult sci-fi film 12 Monkeys is in the works.
Bosses at the US Syfy network have ordered a pilot, which will be written by screenwriters Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett.
The original 1995 film featured Willis as a convict living
underground after the spread of a deadly disease.
It was directed by Terry Gilliam and pulled in over $US168 million at the box office.
