Kooky animation series that started on the internet and became a cult hit. The "friends" are cute and cuddly and speak their own bizarre language but their adventures end in chaos. Think Ren & Stimpy crossed with Itchy & Scratchy. Yep, it's violent, bloody and black of humour.

Another sci-fi action piece from director Kurt Wimmer (Equilibrium). Milla Jovovich stars as Violet, a highly trained warrior vampire protecting a boy who holds the key to curing the vampire virus. Plenty of CGI action sequences and an altered colour palette, but it's repetitive and looks like an expensive car ad. (2006)
