Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have confirmed a second New Zealand show - but they're staying put in Auckland to play a two-night stand at Mt Smart Stadium rather than venture further afield.
There had been a hopeful petition from Christchurch fans that "The Boss" might play therein what might be the final show on his two year Wrecking Ball world tour.
But Springsteen's Australian-based promoter ruled that out.
Frontier Touring Boss Michael Gudinski said he acknowledged "the passion of Christchurch fans".
"Regrettably however on this particular tour a Christchurch show isn't logistically possible within the time frame available," he said.
"Notably a significant number of fans from the Canterbury region have already secured tickets to the first Auckland concert and I am absolutely confident that Bruce will deliver them a concert that they will remember for years to come."
The second show will be at Mt Smart on Sunday March 2, the night after the March 1 show which sold out its 35,000 tickets within an hour of going on sale.
On TradeMe, pairs of tickets to the first show were getting bids as high as $1000 or more.
