Making a bone-dry promise to hip-hop fans has backfired for a local promoter, who is offering refunds for this week's Bone Thugs-N-Harmony shows.
The rap veterans, known for '90s hits like Crossroads and Thuggish Ruggish Bone, are scheduled to perform two shows in New Zealand this week: tonight in Christchurchand tomorrow night in Auckland.
Promoters promised all five original members of the Cleveland rap group - that's Krayzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Layzie Bone, Wish Bone and Flesh-n-Bone - would perform here for the first time.
But that promise has backfired. In a Facebook post today, promoters Talk Later said Flesh N Bone was unable to make the trip, and Layzie Bone would only perform at the Auckland show.
"Whilst we sit here extremely proud about making history with Bizzy Bone's attendance, we are at the same time just as gutted as the rest of the Bone Thugs fans across the country with this unexpected outcome," the post said.
Promoters said they would stand by their statement and offer refunds if all five of the group's members didn't make it to New Zealand.
On Facebook, some fans requested a 20 per cent discount on the Auckland ticket price to make up for Flesh N Bone's disappearance.
All refund requests need to be submitted by 6pm today for Christchurch, and 6pm tomorrow for Auckland, at the ticket's point of sale.
