The Byron Bay Blues Festival across the Tasman is continuing to bring acts to our part of the world too.
Festival headliners the Black Keys, George Clinton and Beth Hart are due for Auckland shows in March and April.
The latest Byron import is Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini who isheading to the Powerstation on Monday, April 6 off the back of his acclaimed UK number one album, Caustic Love. Tickets are on sale from Friday, November 21.
Meanwhile, returning in February is American alt-rock guitar hero and Dinosaur Jr frontman J Mascis who plays solo shows at Christchurch's DuxLive on Thursday, February 26, Wellington's Bodega on Friday, February 27, and Auckland's The Studio on Saturday, February 28.
And here's another local veteran heading out on the road this summer. Andrew Fagan and The People are doing a nine-date New Zealand tour starting at Auckland's Backbeat Bar on Friday, December 12 - the date marks 30 years to the day since his band, the Mockers, reached No 2 in the NZ charts with Forever Tuesday Morning.
The RadioLive host says he's looking forward about his return to live music with a mix of old favourites and new songs.
"It feels like a good time to get out around the country and do it real and live with a set of the songs that have meant so much to me over the last 30 years. The People are the most powerful and dynamic live band I've had the pleasure of performing with.
I was surprised when the guys said our new single is coming out bang on 30 years after Forever Tuesday Morning. Where did those years go?"
