If you've found yourself asking what has happened to Ladyhawke lately, Auckland City Limits is about to deliver the answer.
The new one-day festival, scheduled for Western Springs on March 19, adds a performance by the reclusive Masterton rocker to its bill in the second line-up announcement, released today.
In her first performance here in almost four years, Ladyhawke will be playing at the festival around the release of her third album, scheduled to drop in the first half of 2016.
She's joined by Portland rockers Modest Mouse, Kiwi reggae collective Fat Freddy's Drop, Kamasi Washington, Broods, Shapeshifter, Highly Suspect, Jarryd James and Racing.
They join previously announced acts Kendrick Lamar, The National, Cold War Kids, Action Bronson, The Naked & Famous and Maala.
The festival is the latest venture from former New Zealand Big Day Out promoter Campbell Smith and is modelled on long-running American event Austin City Limits, which featured Drake, Foo Fighters The Weeknd and The Strokes as headliners at last year's event.
A third announcement for Auckland City Limits is expected in coming weeks, taking the total number of festival performances to 40.
