Pop-up Globe: All good things must come to an end and, this weekend, one of the country's most beloved theatre company's wraps up its 2017/18 summer season. After four months, and a couple of season extensions, Pop-up Globe says goodbye. There's still a chance to get tickets to The Merchant of Venice and A Midsummer Night's Dream, both presented in true Pop-up Globe style: bawdy, hilarious and provocative. The world's first full-scale temporary working replica of the second Globe, PuG's location in the idyllic gardens at Ellerslie Racecourse has worked wonderfully well. Fingers crossed it pops up again next year.

George Bar: Speaking of things that pop-up, Pop-up Comedy sees real-life comedians pop up for a limited number of Sunday nights at George Bar. It will be a mixed bag of new and emerging talent but none will be kept in a box. Auckland comedy stalwart Brendhan Lovegrove hosts the event which could be a good warm-up for the NZ International Comedy Festival which starts later this month.
